Try to calm them down if they are creating a non-verbal scene. ▪ If they are having a verbal meltdown, then sometimes you need to leave them alone. There are times when you need to let them learn things on their own. Do not put down everything in your hands, and talk to them sensibly once they have calmed down. ▪ Offer them a bargain. Show them the situation on a table and give them a deal. It doesn’t have to be a bribe. It can be a prize in exchange for their good behavior. ▪ Try to create a diversion with some activity of common interest or a third person. Rise above the situation and find an outlet which is not related to the topic of the tantrum.
