  1. Quality Control Before entering the phase of medical preparation itself, all the basic products are controlled for the whole of the physicochemical standards (diameter, resistance, homogeneity, chromium content...). After their input in room of production, all handlings are done in sterile rooms, the solutions used are controlled by the laboratories of the University of Liege and the finished product is sterilized by Ethylene Oxide or by gamma rays. The industrial pharmacist supervises the whole of the procedures and, in fine, a last control of sterility is carried out by laboratories STERIGENICS. The multiplicity of controls, a rigorous and tested procedure will guarantee a reliable product and of great quality.

  5. Practimono® PDO POLYDIOXANONE • Synthetic absorbable surgical monofilament made of • polydioxanone (PDO). Polydioxanone has been found to be • nonantigenic, nonpyrogenic, and elicits only a slight tissue • reaction during absorption. • Has following characteristics • Very high initial tensile strength • Excellent pliability • Smooth tissue passage • Absorption by hydrolytic action with a total absorption • in approximately 180 to 210 days. • Available in USP sizes 2 (metric 5) through 4-0 (metric 1,5) • Available for violet color. • Presentation in cassette packs or box with 12 sutures.

Practilac ® P(LA-CL) L-lactide-ε-caprolactone • Synthetic absorbable surgical monofilament made of • copolymer of L-lactide-ε-copralactone (P(LA-CL). • Has following characteristics • Very high initial tensile strength • Excellent tissue support • Minimal tissue reaction • Soft tissue passage • Excellent knot tie down • Good handling properties • Easy and secure knotting • Absorption by hydrolysis, and in the late stage by • macrophages, with total absorption in approximately • 180 to 210 days. • Available in USP sizes 2 (metric 5) through 2-0 (metric 3) • Available for violet color. • Presentation in cassette packs only. Practigut® CATGUT PLAIN • Natural absorbable surgical twisted multifilament with a • monofilament aspect. • 98% pure collagen taken intestinal mucous membrane of bovines. • All these animals come from certified herds BSE-free countries. • Has following characteristics • Very high initial tensile strength • Gradual absorption • Excellent handling • Moderate tissue reaction • Absorption by phagocytosis, results in a total absorption in • approximately 63 days. • Available in USP sizes 4 (metric 8) through 3-0 (metric 3) • Available for ivory color. • Presentation in cassette packs only. Practigut® CATGUT CHROM • Natural absorbable surgical twisted multifilament with a monofilament aspect. • 98% pure collagen treated with chromic salts. • Has following characteristics • Very high initial tensile strength • Moderate tissue reaction • Excellent handling • Absorption by phagocytosis. The chromizing induce a slow and safe absorption , in approximately 70 days. • Available in USP sizes 4 (metric 8) through 3-0 (metric 3) • Available for dark brown color. • Presentation in cassette packs only.
