WELCOME TO CSU INTERACT! • This PPT file provides you with an orientation to CSU Interact. • It identifies the Interact tools that are available for EHR403 & describes how they will be used to support your learning in this subject.
What is CSU Interact? • CSU Interact is your online learning environment. It contains all the material you require to complete your study. • You will not be mailed any learning material in hardcopy. All the resources you need to be complete this subject, other than the prescribed text, can be accessed through Interact.
Tabs to access other Interact sites. Recent posts to the “Announcements” tool. Layout Interact “Home” Page (accessed via “Home” tool) Menu to access available Interact tools.
Home • Provides basic subject information including: • Purpose of the subject. • Subject coordinator contact details. • Prescribed textbook. • Directions on how to “get started” with your studies.
Annoucements • This tool will be used by CSU staff to communicate all “official” &/or urgent information that you need to know in order to complete your studies. • For example, a change to the assessment requirements would be posted here. • You will get an email when an announcement is posted.
Chat Room • Used for real-time, text-based conversations between people logged in to the same Interact site at the same time. • The red box identifies those people currently in the Interact site. Click on their name to send them a chat request.
EASTS • Portal for submitting assessment items # 1 & #2. • See the Modules for details on how to use EASTS.
Evaluation • Can you can use this tool to provide a subject evaluation at the end of the session. • It does not become active until teaching week 14 & closes after the exam period.
Forum • Provides a less formal means of communication to students for the subject coordinator compared with the Announcements tool. • Students are also encouraged to use the forum to support each others learning. • See Module Week 1.1 for details.
Group Email • Stores all mass-send emails by the subject coordinator to students. • Unlikely to be used (Announcements & forum preferred for communication).
Modules • All subject learning material will be contained here. • There are two (2) modules to complete each week. • Work your way through each one finishing with the review questions/ case studies.
Resource • Online document storage. • Unlikely to be used by the subject coordinator as the Modules are preferred for storing learning material. • You can upload & store material there if you like (just remember all students will have access).

Wiki • Functions as a tool to support online group collaboration. • Unlikely to be used.
MIMS Online • Web link to the CSU library & accesses MIMS Online. • This e-resource is used extensively by nurses & other medical professionals to obtain information about medications: • Indications. • Contraindications • Dosages. • Modes of action. • Side effects.
Lab Tests Online • One-stop-shop for information on a large range of laboratory tests. • Information provided includes: • What the test is used for. • How the test works. • What the results mean. • Other useful follow-up tests.
Blood Chem Convert • Web link to an online blood chemistry units converter. • The textbook & many journal articles report blood chemistry data in US units (mg/dL) not SI units (mmol/L) • Convert data to SI units for evaluation & interpretation.
Subject Outline • You can access your subject outline here. • Download a pdf copy & keep it somewhere safe. You made need it in the future when applying credit for in another course.
Test Centre • Contains a weekly test to provide you will some revision activities & practise questions for the final exam.
