Document Management Program Document Management is a component of Lyondell’s Knowledge Management Strategy • Documentum is the Enterprise Standard for Document Management and is currently used to manage over 1 million documents: • AutoCad Drawings • Standard Operating Procedures • Spec Sheets • Work Instructions • Administrative documents: Training material, contracts, web-content, etc…. Lyondell partnered with Trinity to enhance Documentum functionality.

  4. CADCapture is… … an easy-to use Documentum accessory that: • automatically extracts tag, text and title block information from Microstation and AutoCAD drawings • maps extracted drawing information directly to Documentum attributes and also registered tables.

Benefits of CADCapture • Configuration file can be modified to reflect plant or project-specific taxonomy • Provide central location and control for all company drawings Improved Drawing Management Enhance QA/MOC Efficiencies Work Process Efficiencies • Provides vehicle to easily identify all drawings affected by a particular change • Synchronizes drawing title and revision number in the drawing with their associated Documentum attributes • Makes important drawing data searchable in Documentum without manual entry • Enables bulk check in of CAD files into a secure Documentum content repository

Features and Functions CADCapture Bulk Loading Capability Process against up To 8 Docbases Process drawings for Information not captured during Manual check in Captures data from the drawing such as equipment tags, line numbers and title block information Enables users to get desired information in Documentum for reference and searchability

  7. The CADCapture Architecture • CADCapture is a Visual Basic application with a COM interface to Autocad 2000 • CADCapture is configured through the .ini file to process information according to company standards

The CADCapture.ini File • Defines: • Title block, drawing number, and tag determination logic • Attribute data rules • Registered table definitions • Docbase connectivity information • Tag processing rules • Enables CADCapture to be customized to specific drawing labeling standards for each site.
