Program History • Early to mid 2000’s • Contracted cycling rides with the Breckenridge Outdoor Adventure Center • 2008 • Kelvin assisted with the Paralympic Experience • End of 2008 • Needs Assessment conducted; cycling was ranked in the top 10 list of leisure and recreational interests • Summer 2009 • First ride offered with use of CycleDifferent’s cycles • TRP began the process of purchasing handcycles and recumbent cycles through grants (OOF and NRPA)

  4. Program Growth • 2009 rides: • 2-4 per season; 8 participants • 2012 rides: • 2 per month; 12-14 participants with waiting lists!

Cycling Rides • General Flow of the Day • “Herding Cats” • Staff and volunteers arrive 15-30 minutes prior to the event • Bikes are unloaded and prepped • Participants are fitted with a cycle according on their needs • Group of participants and volunteers decide on which trail to ride from pre-selected options • Weather conditions, distance and time are considered • Participants sign out after the ride
