  1. Diffusion Through Porous Media Ki Tae Wolf EPS 109 Background Image from: https://blogs.lt.vt.edu/cristarchblog/page/2/

  2. Description of the Project Added convective effect Simulation based on erosion simulation Equation: dc/dt=D*laplacian(c)-v*gradient(c) Velocity field is set unidirectional through entire simulation Simulation is run much like erosion simulation but contour plot is animated Areas that represent particle is set with regions with no concentration Simulation result showed convection had stronger transport power than diffusion Furthermore, considering experimental understanding of diffusion through porous media, unidirectional velocity field doesn’t work. More complex relationship between fluid velocity and large particle needs to be implemented to give a more realistic result.
