AITEX-Textile Research Institute (R&D) is a private non-profit making association established in 1985 whose main objective is to improve the textile companies competitiveness, promoting modernisation actions, new technologies introduction and improvement of the company and products quality. Main Expertise of the Smart and Functional Textile Research Group • Lines of research: • Functional textiles for Bio health sector • Intelligent sensor in textiles with application in domotics, aeronautics and automotive • industry • Luminous textiles • Intelligent sensor in textiles for monitoring physiological signals with application in telemedicine • Functional sensor in textiles with applications in work safety • Chromatic sensors with applications in health care • Applications: • Research in biomedicine and e-health for the development of new textile articles designed to • improve personal well-being • Research in intelligent textiles with different applications (domotics, aeronautics, automotive • Industry, etc…) • -Research applied to the development of functional textile for protective work clothing in chemical • environments, home furnishing, clothing, etc… WEAR a BAN Kick-off Meeting
Role in Wear-a-BAN AITEX will be active in the specification of use case for textiles. We will also integrate the new system in textile fabrics which will allow to control and monitor the movement of a person wearing the intelligent garment developed. AITEX will lead, as well, the testing WP and end user validation in which we will interface the WBAN sensor nodes with product and platforms provided by the SME-AG’s and end-users SMEs in order to show the potential of the technology to all the SMEs communities.
