Mission The JHC is committed to regenerate the Johannesburg Inner City through the provision of quality, value for money accommodation and service for all who choose to live there, in a manner that is both sustainable and promotes growth
Facts & Figures: JHC • Total number of buildings: 20 • Total number of units under management: 2406 • Total number of units under construction: 400 • By February 2006 JHC will home approximately 8000 tenants in 3000 units within the Johannesburg inner city. JHC will have added 8% to the housing stock over a 10 year period.
Tax Scenario • Social Housing Institutions - pioneering work in urban development • JHC - largest residential investor in inner-city - total investment of R270 million - no TAX relief - PBO Status
Facts & Figures: Brickfields • Cost: R120 million • The first phase of Brickfields adds a further 650 units and 1500 people • The completed Brickfields will add a total of 750 units and 2500 people to the JHC portfolio • 90 % full within one month of letting • Mixed income • Mixed use • Location, location, location • Community Services: crèches, computer centres, after-school centres
UDZ Implications: Brickfields • Total project of R120m: R24 m in yr 1 R6 m p.a. 16 yrs • Second phase of R30m: R6 m in yr 1 R1.5 m p.a. 16 yrs
