Provider Perspective Provider perspective Percent of office-based physicians and acute care hospitals with any EHR Note: Estimates are the percent of non-federal office-based physicians excluding radiologists, pathologists, anesthesiologists and percent of non-federal acute care hospitals with any electronic health record. “Any EHR” is a medical or health record system that is either all or partially electronic (excluding systems solely for billing). Encounter Perspective Encounter perspective Percent of office-based physician visits and acute care hospital admissions at providers with any EHR ~78% in 2013 (projected) Note: Estimates are the percent of visits to non-federal office-based physicians excluding radiologists, pathologists, anesthesiologists and percent of admissions at non-federal acute care hospitals with any electronic health record. “Any EHR” is a medical or health record system that is either all or partially electronic (excluding systems solely for billing). In 2010, the share of physician visits to physicians with any EHR (53%) was the same as the share of physicians with any EHR (52%); the projected 2013 estimate assumes this same pattern. Person Perspective Person perspective Percent of adults who report that any of their medical providers maintain their information in an EHR Note: Estimates are representative of the US civilian non-institutionalized population ages 18 and older. Respondents were asked whether, as far as you know, any of your health care providers maintain your medical information in a computerized (HINTS) / electronic (ONC Survey) system.
