problem • National electoral campaigns collect and maintain detailed voter data, however, this data is not available to local political organizers. Local organizers need a non-partisan way to identify unregistered voters who will support local candidates and legislation.
Voter Registration Insights • The Voter Registration Insights system will allow community organizers to find political precincts that have a high number of unregistered voters. Registration data will be tied to census data so that the registration data can also be analyzed according to • Age • Gender • Marital Status (household relationship) • Owner / Renter • Race / Ethnicity
Progress report • Identified data necessary to build system • Extracted data from online data sources • Built internet-accessible data store that can be queried by mobile or web apps • Began design and construction work on user interface • Mobile app • Web site
