  2. Background This campaign started in October of 2011 in Duluth, Minnesota. The town was a 90% populated white community. By early 2012, they had sent out major speakers and community dialogues.

  3. What is the purpose of this poster? The purpose of this poster is to raise awareness about white privilege in our communities. Purpose

  4. Who is the audience of this poster? This poster directs the purpose towards white people because we are the ones who are being racist at times and may not even know it. Audience

  5. Why not use a person of a different ethnicity? The creator uses white people to direct it towards them. If they had used a black women instead, then a Caucasian may look at it and think that its just another person thinking that white people gets treated better. It touches a Caucasian emotionally to see that we bully other ethnicities and don’t notice it. Technique

  6. Is the poster Balanced? The poster is balanced. The creator put words on both sides of the women's face and it equals out throughout the poster.

  7. The poster would have no purpose if we removed the words. It would look like a portrait of a women, or maybe even a mug shot. What would happen if we removed the words?

  8. What is the focal point of this poster? The focal point is the larger words and the words that are all capital letters. When you first look at the image your eyes are drawn to the words white, unfair, and fair skin. Focal Point

  9. What is the ethical appeal? The ethical appeal is the unfair campaign logo at the bottom right hand corner showing that what is written on the poster is proved by their expertise opinions. Ethos

  10. What is the emotional appeal? The emotional appeal is that it touches some white people because of the fact that we bully other ethnicities and don’t even realize we are doing it. Pathos

  11. What is the logical appeal? The logical appeal is that racism is a problem in society, not only towards black or white people but to everyone. Logos
