  2. MHealthy is the Health Promotion Division on campus. We offer Wellness and Risk Reduction services. Following are just some of our services and programs.

Incentive Payout • Payments will occur within 60 days of the health questionnaire AND wellness screening being completed. • "MHealthy Program Credit" will appear on an individual’s paycheck • Payments are made in the last biweekly or monthly paycheck. Questions for any incentive payments Have participants call the HR/Payroll Service Center at 734-615-2000, select Option 1

Active U • 12 week physical activity program began Feb. 14th and the last day of the program is May 7th; with the last day to log on May 14th. • Track activity minutes online or with your smartphone • Open to all faculty, staff, grad students and retirees • Participants are required to log 30 minutes on 3 days over a week. • You may not join a team now, but for the next couple of weeks you can still join the program as an individual • NEW! Donations for Active U will be done through UM Giving. Participants will be able to pick among various charities. • NEW! Active U Tracker will have a ‘My Profile’ page for users to make changes • NEW! Nutrition component to tracker page

What are Department Level Programs? • Paper based, 6 week long programs “run” by the department’s MHealthy Champion • Different sessions are available throughout the year • What are the topics? • Nutrition – Eat for the Health of It • Fitness – Just a Minute • Fitness & Nutrition – Move, Lose and Maintain • How can they help my department? Can assist in improving a culture of wellness

  18. Classes • Over 100 Exercise and Relaxation Classes a week all over campus (over 20 classes in UH / CVC/Med Sci. area alone) • Over 25 different sites across campus at which classes are held • On average, for UM faculty and staff, a once a week class for 15 weeks would cost $40 total

  25. UMHS MHealthy Alcohol Management Program (AMP)

  26. Alcohol Management Program Goal • To improve health by eliminating all negative consequences from drinking alcohol by either cutting down or quitting alcohol altogether.

Alcohol Management Program • Free Phone Screening for All • Free to all benefits eligible employees • Initial interview for all clients 3 and 6 month follow up for all program formats • 30 days abstinence for clients who choose to moderate. • Referrals for: • Added support • Treatment programs (AA, WFS, UMATS) • Sleep clinic, marital counseling, EAP, Anxiety Clinic, etc…

  28. The Role of Ergonomics • Reducing risk factors for musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) • Awkward postures • Repetitive motion or sustained postures • Contact stress • Excessive force • Vibration • Temperature Extremes

  29. Ergonomics Grants and Awards • Ergo Grants: Help your staff and finances • Dept. annual competitive application process for central fund, max $5000 per grant. Dept. cost sharing nearly doubles the impact • Individual Medical Ergo needs: If equipment cost exceeds $400, maximum offer of $200 per client • Ergo Departmental Awards • For reducing ergo risks for department • Special plaques and healthy food celebration • Ergo Hero Individual Awards • For ergo role models; Hero pin and certificate
