Facebook Do’s and Don’ts • Greg & Grant Billings
Do • Post Pictures • Use the same manners you would use at a party • Be interesting • Post video • Be relevant, but cast a wide net
Do • Post coming events and reviews after the events • Drive people to your page by posting their picture • Post often, but not too often • Keep it close to home .... post about customers, students, staff, teachers, suppliers and even reps.
Do • Link to and from your web site • Use contests and (non controversial) polls • Give stuff away • Grab links from anywhere and everywhere • Echo anything that appears about you or your staff in the press or on line
Do • Keep personal and business fan pages separate • Use the message feature for semiprivate messages and overt sale promotions • Check spelling and grammar • Be informal
Don’t • Brag • Post too often, but often enough • Get political or controversial • Make personal posts on your business fan page • Be too informal
Don’t • Post too many overt sales messages • Become a catalog • Become one long commercial • Forget to check spelling and grammar
Don’t • Overlook the opportunity Facebook presents… for free!
