Jesus is the friend of the Depressed and Discouraged • Isa 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. • 13For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
This friendship is Declared You are my friends v 14 This friendship is Defined If you do whatever I command you v14 The Characteristics of this Friendship
This friendship is Determined • John 15:16 • You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.
This friendship is Demonstrated John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends.
The Conditions for this Friendship John 15:14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.
Luke 6:46 "But why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' and not do the things which I say? 47 Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: • 48He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock.
The Consequence of this Friendship John 15:11 "These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.
