  2. Apprenticeship Registered apprenticeship can help employers solve workforce challenges like skills-gap from retirements, lack of skilled training and low retention rates?

  3. Where do you start? 1 There are two options: Option 1 is to join as existing program as a training agent Option 2 is to start a new apprenticeship program as a sponsor

  4. Option 1: Training Agent The quickest and easiest way to be part of an apprenticeship. A training works with an existing sponsor to provide the on-the-job training, but the sponsor manages the majority of the apprenticeship management activities and holds the standard.

  5. What if there are no existing programs that meet the needs of my company?

  6. Option 2: Sponsor • Create and register a new apprenticeship program standard with Labor and Industries • Create a business plan to manage the apprenticeship activities

  8. Establish Apprenticeship Program 1 Develop Program Standards Develop Related Supplemental Instruction (RSI) Establish journey level wage

Washington and DOL • The U.S. Department of Labor has registered apprenticeship that works in partnership with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council. • State apprenticeship consultants are able to provide one-on-one support to employers. • Registering your apprenticeship with the State of Washington helps ensure rigorous standards for occupations.
