  3. FDNet Log InFirst Data URL: www.firstdatanet.com1. Smartcard requires key fob, username and password. 2. UserID and password. Both methods require setup with your Implementation Manager. Passphrase (password) must be 8 alphanumeric characters with no repeated letters or numbers. System requires passphrase change every 60 days.

  4. FDNet ToolbarThe blue toolbar is a navigational tool that allows access to various reports by merchant's hierarchy: corporate, mid number/store location. It also lets you change passphrase and view historical data by date. Note: FDNet reports are 1 calendar day behind. Funds movement date is the actual date to view funds in the account. FDNet stores six months of reporting data and archive information for seven years.

  5. First Data’s Settlement Solution: A robust system that enables clients to track and move funds for all gift and spending card activity. The graphic below highlights system functions.

  6. Gift Card Net Settlement The system tracks and reports all financial transactions down to the gift card level on a daily basis. The reports display the net settlement amount each participating entity owes or is owed.

  7. Product Overview • Gift Card Fees and Commissions • The system supports funds movement for fees and commissions in conjunction with regular funds movement or on a separate monthly date. • The system can support set amounts for general fees such as daily location and daily transaction fee billing. • The system also supports flexible fees and commissions for 8 routine gift card transactions: • - Activations / Void Activations • - Balance Inquiries / Timeout Reversals • - Redemptions / Void Redemptions • Reloads / Void Reloads • Fees and commission flexibility includes selection of: • - Approved transactions • - Declined transactions • - Flat fee per transaction • - % of transaction amount

  8. Funds Movement First Data initiates ACH transactions to move funds to and from participating entity bank accounts. Funds move on business banking days, excluding bank holidays. Funds hit the bank account 2–3 days after the gift card activity occurred. During implementation, clients can select daily, weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly funds movement.

  9. POS Balancing and Bank Reconciliation

  10. Online Exceptions and Manual Adjustments • Exceptions are financial gift card transactions for which funds cannot move. The • system displays exceptions and reason codes. There are 3 types of exceptions: • ACH Returns: Returned by the bank, e.g., NSF, stop payment, account closed, expired authorizations, debit filters. • ACH Rejects: Transaction fails before being sent to the bank, e.g., bad routing or transit number, previous exception with uncorrected error. • Not Settled: Transaction does not clear internal system business rules; unknown, missing or bad bank information; client or location information unknown or does not match information on file. When a transaction fails, the account is marked inactive until the record is fixed. Once the condition that caused any of the above exceptions is corrected, the transaction can be manually adjusted online. Funds then move for the transaction and for the account. Corporate users have access to manual adjustments. Manual adjustments allow documentation to create an appropriate audit trail. Note: The ‘location’ will need to correct ‘Returns’; corporate will need to correct ‘Rejects’ and ‘Not Settled’ reports.
