  2. Geographic Location • Located in northern parts of North America, Europe, and Asia. • Usually south of Tudras and north of temperate deciduous forests. • Largest land biome on earth. • Covers 50 million acres (17% of earth’s land area)

  3. Taiga Temperatures Summer temperatures can reach 50 degrees F Short summers can be 50 to 100 frost free days Winter temperatures can drop to -40 F or lower Up to six months of long severe winters

  4. Animals • Wolf • Wolverine • Weasel • Reindeer • Squirrel • Lynx • Bald Eagle • Ants • Husky

  9. Taiga Precipitation Yearly rain can range from 40 in. to 8 in. depending on where the taiga is located. Low evaporation can make this a humid climate.
