  2. Alūksne statistics: • 19 221 inhabitants in Alūksne district • 8 900 inhabitants in Alūksne town • Ethnic composition: • Latvian 78%, Russian 17%, Ukrainian 1,6%,Estonian 1,3%

  3. Legal status of ACYC Alūksne Children and Youth Centre (ACYC) is an educational institution established by Alūksne District Council according to Ministry of Education and Science in 2002.

  4. ACYC activities: • Youth work in Aluksne district (Alūksne town + 14 villages), • Leasure time centre « Te-ELPA», • 14 hobby groups- folk dances, vokal studios, theatre group, velo club, tourism section.... (635 students age 5-20), • Leasure time activities for children and youngsters in Alūksne district (summer camps, creative workshops, activities in school holidays, games days...) • Non-formal education( English, German, Spanish languages, Flamenko, seminars in schools, workshops..), • EURODESK regional coordinating organization, • EU non-formal educational programm « Youth in Action» – EVS, Youth iniciatives, Youth exchange projects..), • Project work

ACYC priorities 2012./13. • To support and develop youth iniciatives, • To promote non-formal education possibilities for youngsters in Aluksne district, • To develop local society /municipality and youth partnership in Alūksne district, • To create interesting, realistic, based on target group interests offer (activities, free time possibilities..) to MYIC youngsters
