Timeline (and RRT 1 events) • Mar 24-25th – SONS 2010 Exercise (ME, NH, MA) • Apr 20-22nd – Explosion & Sinking of Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit – DEEPWATER HORIZON • Apr 23rd - Unified Area Command established • Apr 28-29th – RRT 1 meeting with early DWHZ presentation • Apr 29th – Declared a Spill of National Significance (SONS) • May 1st – Admiral Thad Allen designated National Incident Commander • May 1st – 8th – Preliminary Attempts to Secure Source • May 2nd – Commenced Relief Well Drilling • May 29th – Top Kill Unsuccessful • Jul 15th - Well secured • Aug 3rd -5th – Static Kill • Sep 4 – BOP and LMRP removed from seafloor UNCLASSIFIED
