  2. The round ligament ends at the upper border of the labia majora. Meet posteriorly at the posterior comissure. c. Labia minora They merge anteriorly to form the prepuce of the clitoris and posteriorly to for the forchette. d. Clitoris: homologus to the penis e. The vestibule: The area that extends from the clitoris to the forchette and is bounded by the labia minora. It has openings of vagina, urethra, bartholin gland para urethral glands.

  3. THE PERINEUM: • Pelvic diaphragm • Urogenital diaphragm Pelvic diaphragm consists of: 1. Levator ani muscles 2. Coccygeus muscles 3. Facial coverings of these muscles ORIGIN OF LEVATOR ANI: • Post surface of the superior rami of the pubis • Inner surface of the ischialspines • Obturator facia

  4. INSERTION:  around the vagina  around the rectum  coccyx • Urogenital diaphragm Located external to the pelvic diaphragm. It is the  area between the ischeal tuberosities and the symphysis pubis. Consists of: • Deep transverse perineal muslces • Constrictor of the urethra • Internal and external facial coverings

  5. THE PERINEAL BODY • It is the median raphe of the levator ani between the anus and the vagina. • It is reinforced by: a. Central tendon of the perineum on which converge the:  bulbo cavernosus muscles  superficial transverse perial muscles  external anal sphincter

  6. THE GENITAL TRACT • The Uterus:  located between the bladder and rectum  consists of the body and the cervix • LIGAMENTS OF THE UTERUS a. broad ligament b. round ligament

  7. 2.Tubes:  Intestinal portion  Isthmus  Ampulla  Fimbriated end • Ovaries • The vagina
