Knowing • Goal • Make a washing machine grey water saver • Materials • 10m garden hose • Washing machine • Hose connecter (to connect the outlet pipe to the garden hose) • Environmental friendly washing powder • Steps • Attach the hose connecter to the garden hose • Attach the washing machine outlet pipe to the hose connecter • Place the end of the hose in the area of your garden that requires watering • Run normal washing cycle • Ensure you use environment friendly washing powder • Have fun saving water!!!
Understanding My water saving device is a WASHING MACHINE GREY WATER SAVER It saves water by re-cycling the water that would normally go down the drain into the sea. The waste water from the washing machine is used to water the garden, this also saves using tap water. Once the washing machine finishes its cycle, it pumps the waste water through the outlet pipe and into the garden hose that is placed in the garden area needing watering.
