Was founded for the Okpo Shipyard as the Korea Shipbuilding & Engineering Corp •1978. Established Daewoo Shipbuilding & Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. and acquired the Okpo Shipyard. •2003. The firm name was changed to the Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd (DSME) now.
