Northeast Bronx Pilot Email and Telephone Messages Pilot area is Bronx Community District 10 and includes Throgs Neck Peninsula, Westchester Square, Coop City, City Island and Hart Island; the area east of the New England Thruway from the Westchester border to Pelham Parkway; the area east of Hutchinson River Parkway from Pelham Parkway south to Westchester Creek; and the area east of Westchester Creek. This district will allow the City to study message delivery in an area with high- and low-density housing.
Lower Manhattan Pilot Email and Text Messages Pilot area closely parallels Manhattan Community District 1 and includes the following neighborhoods: Battery Park City Financial District Tribeca and Civic Center This district will allow the City to test messaging especially for events related to construction, deconstruction, and decontamination that are part of the rebuilding efforts following the September 11th attacks Buildings in this area include 130 Cedar Street, 130 Liberty Street, Fiterman Hall (50 West Broadway), and the World Trade Center site
The Rockaways Pilot Email and Text Messages Pilot area is Queens Community District 14 and includes all of the Rockaway peninsula to the Nassau County border and Broad Channel Island south of East 1st Road. Neighborhoods in this pilot are Breezy Point, Belle Harbor, Neponsit, Arverne, Bayswater, Edgemere, Rockaway Park, Rockaway and Far Rockaway. This district will allow the City to study messaging related to coastal storm emergencies (e.g., severe flooding, beach erosion)
Southwest Staten Island Pilot Email and Telephone Messages This pilot area is Staten Island Community District 3, the southern third of Staten Island - areas south of Fresh Kills Creek; then south of Richmond Road to Amboy Road; and then generally south of Tysens Lane and Ebbits Street to Lower New York Bay. This pilot includes the neighborhoods of Annadale, Arden Heights, Bay Terrace, Charleston, Eltingville, Great Kills, Greenridge, Huguenot, Pleasant Plains, Prince's Bay, Richmond Valley, Rossville, Tottenville, and Woodrow. This district will help examine the use of messaging for emergencies relating to nearby hazardous and flammable material ports, as well as storage sites.
