TEKNOLOGI TENAGA PERLIS CONSORTIUM SDN BHD Selamat Datang STEAM TURBINE INTRODUCTION 13 Oktober 2009
AGENDA • Pengenalan Diri • Pengenalan Perlis Power Plant • Concept / Background • Main Design Group
Pengenalan • Abdul Malik Bin Abdul Rahman • Operations Manager, Perlis Power Plant • Background: BSc Chemical Engineering • Experience: Fatty Acids Production(Palm Oil), Engineering Plastics(Monomer), Power Generation
Perlis Power Plant • 650 MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCPP) • 3 x ALSTOM GT13E2 • 1 x ALSTOM ST • 3 x ALSTOM HRSGs • Contributes 4% of the total electricity generation of the Malaysian peninsular
Perlis CCPP • Power Block • 650 MW Site Rated Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) • Three Dual Fired Alstom 143MW GT13E2 and Three Dual Pressure HRSGs • One 221MW Steam Turbine • Step Up Transformers ( 4 units; 2x132kV and 2x275kv) • Balance of Plant (BOP) • Demineralized Water Treatment Plant (2 x 100%) • Gas Dew Point Heaters (2 x 50%) • Emergency Diesel and Black Start Diesel generators • Cooling Towers • 2 x 13,500 m3 Oil Tanks and 3 Water Storage Tanks
Basic Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Power Plant (CCGT) Provide Efficiencies up to 60% Cooling Water Gas or Oil Supply Air Supply Steam Turbine Generator Steam Electrical Output Electrical Output Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) Condensate Condenser Generator Gas Turbine
History • 1st Century - Hero of Alexandria in Roman Egypt • 1551 - Taqi al-Din in Ottoman Egypt, who described it as a prime mover for rotating a spit • 1648 - by John Wilkins • 1660 – by Samuel Pepys • 1629 - Italian Giovanni Branca • 1884 - The modern steam turbine was invented in 1884 by the Englishman Sir Charles Parsons, whose first model was connected to a dynamo that generated 7.5 kW of electricity
Steam Turbine Types 1- Straight Condensing turbines which allow steam to expand to the lowest possible pressure before it is condensed into water. 2- Back-pressure and topping turbines in which steam is exhausted before it is fully expanded. Generally, provide low pressure steam for heating or process. 3- Extraction turbine in which steam is extracted (controlled or uncontrolled) during the expansion process for use in othe application such as district heating.
SUNRISE ON 31 MARCH 2003 READY FOR COMMERCIAL OPERATION THANK YOU
