Problem Statement A traditional paper notebook has several disadvantages: • Too often the notebook is not maintained, or is maintained improperly for legal purposes. • Computer-based data must be printed out and attached to the notebook in paper format. • Data in the notebook is not easily indexed or searched. • Work in the Laboratory is duplicated and collaborative opportunities are lost. Is an Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) a viable tool to address any or all of these issues?
