PROJECT IDEA Vilnius, 6-8 November, 2013 • Project name: Structure-function relationships of biomolecules • Proposal outline: Investigation of the conformational properties, molecular dynamics and electronic parameters, characterizing the spatial structure of biomolecules with important physiological functions using the methods of theoretical conformational analysis, molecular dynamics and quantum chemistry • Project objectives: • 1)to receive the knowledge about spatial structure of biomolecules , participating in many physiological processes occurring in living organisms • 2) to explain on atomic-molecular level the mechanism of action of molecules • 3) to offer theoretical modeling for the synthesis of the artificial analogs or medicines having specific functions
WANTED • Competences & Skills wanted: technical, design and coordination • Types of partners sought: university and user-groups • Work to be performed scientific: The modeling of the spatial structure of the biomolecules and the dissemination of received results 3
SKILLS OF THE PROPOSER Our skills: In our laboratory the universal program for the investigation of the spatial structure and of the structure-functional relationships of the biomolecules and molecular complexes have been prepared. With the help of this program and HyperChem, Chem Office, Gaussian 09,GAMESS, LEV, VEDA4 computer proqramms the spatial structure of the proteins, biopolymers, hormones and oligopeptides molecules and the enzyme-substrate and enzyme-ingibitor interaction effects were studied and results were published in scientific journals: J. Mol.Struct v.993, p. 341-356, 2011, J. of Mol.Struct, v. 917, p. 22-26, 2009, J. Mol. Struct., v.785, N 1-3, p.76-84, 2006, Journal of Protein and Peptide Lett., v.13, N 10, p.1-9, 2006, Biophysics, v.50, N 1, p.5-12, 2005, Biophysics, vol.50, N 4, p.613-22, 2005, J.Mol.
