Csi Project Macklemroe, same love
What is the injustice issue? • The issue been dealt with the gay rights. In this modern day gay people still aren’t allowed to marry in Ireland and other countries. Young children at school are been bullied because of their sexuality and some are too insecure to come out that they pretend to be someone their not.
Macklemore, same love • The song explains how we don’t have expectance for ‘gays’ and how small things like been able to draw or been good at maths is been associated with been gay. He also mentions how people consider been gay a disease or a condition, something that can be treated or cured. Macklemore has a personal connection to the song as his uncle is gay so he is very passionate about the subject.
Lyrics • "Man, that's gay" gets dropped on the daily • It's human rights for everybody, there is no difference! • No freedom till we're equal, damn right I support itLive on and be yourself • Bunch of stereotypes all in my head • 'Cause I could draw, my uncle was, and I kept my room straight • Till the day that my uncles can be united by law
Personal opinion I like Macklemores song, Same Love because it’s a good tune and it highlights an injustice issue which needs to be resolved. Not many celebrities sing about such issues so when one celebrity takes action it can make a difference.
How it could be resolved? • If you got guest speakers in to talk to the pupils in schools to make them aware of the stress and damage it causes to children who are struggling with their sexuality and children who are been bullied because of it. • If you got more celebrities or stars who are gay to speak out and to encourage people to come out.
Organisations • Amnesty international • Every day across the globe people are subjected to discrimination, violence, imprisonment, torture or even execution because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.By highlighting instances of abuse against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) individuals, Amnesty International activists work to protect the basic human rights of LGBTI people.
