Ground Support Equipment (GSE) • Spacecraft (S/C) simulator • Simulates S/C interface • Science data telemetry (source packets encoded as PVCFs) • Status data telemetry (low speed SOH data encoded as PVCFs) • Command channel • Supports same data protocol as used during flight • CCSDS • PVCF • Command scripting language (STOL?) • Protocols used during flight and during testing should be identical • Scripting language should also be identical NCKU UCB Tohoku GSE & Science Data S.   7. Front End Data System • Receives S/C telemetry, during flight • From PVCF stream, reassembles ISUAL source packets, sends to ISUAL data server • Accepts Command scripts (STOL?), uplinks commands to S/C NCKU UCB Tohoku GSE & Science Data S. Harris

Spacecraft Simulator • Accepts PVCF from ISUAL (on ground) • Accepts Command scripts (STOL?) and passes commands to ISUAL (on ground) • From PVCF stream, reassembles ISUAL source packets, sends them to ISUAL data server • Provides real-time decoding of “status” channel (low-speed SOH) NCKU UCB Tohoku GSE & Science Data S.   9. ISUAL Data Server • Receives CCSDS source packets via socket connection • Source can be GSE or Front End Data System • Writes source packet archive • Builds science products; saves in archive • Retrieves data from either archive • Runs web server, supports a group of data viewers and calibration programs (Java?) • Runs socket server to provide data to user applications running remotely (e.g. Java/C++/IDL) NCKU UCB Tohoku GSE & Science Data S.
