  2. What is the Texas Book Festival? A free event where you can: • Meet some of your favorite authors. • Get books signed by some of your favorite authors. • Listen to cool bands, watch plays and magic shows. • Eat yummy food. • Do fun activities with some of your favorite authors.

  3. Where and When is it? • At the state capitol building on October 22nd and 23rd.

  4. Who’s going to be there? Listen to James Luna read his book “The Runaway Piggy.” Listen to Eileen Christelow read her “Five Little Monkeys” books.

  5. Who’s going to be there? Meet Louis Sachar; Author of Holes and the Wayside School series. Meet Kate DiCamillo; Author of Because of Winn-Dixie, Edward Tulane and Tale of Despereaux and the Mercy Watson series.

  6. Who’s going to be there? Meet the Bow Wow Reading Dogs. Learn to draw with Scott Sutton.

  7. Who’s going to be there? Make puppets with Noel MacNeal, star of Bear in the Big Blue House. Learn how to turn your mistakes into beautiful art with Barney Saltzberg.
