Web interface to the database system Chameleon Fusion was a 3rd year project by: Rob Bunyan, Laura Fletcher, Rene Hummen, Alex Hemming, Chris Steele Our Solution: Chameleon Fusion solves this problem by providing an online database, through which users can build their system virtually by selecting the components they want to use. The system checks the compatibility of the components as they are added, using a knowledge base of known issues. The Problem: Ever tried to build or upgrade your PC only to find after you have bought the components, that they are incompatible with your system? This usually increases costs such as time and money as well as resulting in a lot of frustration! Structure of the database storing information on all pc components Some incompatibilities are easy to spot; however others can be the result of a number of components having issues and can be difficult to sort out. A system which can aid a user in picking their components, as well as confirming that the system they have built is viable overall, would greatly aid them in the process of building their PC. Such a system is as yet unavailable to the public. As the user builds their PC, the database indicates which components are compatible with their system guiding the user through the process. Once the user has finished building their desired PC, the list of components is then available for them to print out, email or store on the database if they are a registered user.
