Issues of TTA Standardization Activities (1/2) • Critical Communication - Plan to deploy the National Public Safety Broadband Network (PSBN) by year 2017 - Review of current available technology • Various technologies of PSBN such as 3GPP LTE technical specification has been reviewed - Standardization of PSBN • Organized ‘PS(Public Safety)-LTE Working Group’ - Development of the functional requirements of PSBN GSC-18, 22-23 July 2014, Sophia Antipolis

Issues of TTA Standardization Activities (2/2) • IMT : VoLTE interworking (VoLTE service and UICC) - TTA has recently developed two standards in order to interwork among Mobile Operators ♦ ‘Specification of LTE Terminal for UICC (Universal Integrated Circuit Card) Portability between Mobile Operators’ (revised in ’14. 7) ♦‘VoLTE interworking specification between Korean MNOs’ (established in ’13.10) - Based on these standards, three Korean mobile operators(SKT, KT, LGU+) are preparing commercial VoLTE interworking service, which is targeted to ’14.3Q - TTA shared the information on those standards and initiated the discussion on VoLTE roaming service at CJK IMT WG meetings GSC-18, 22-23 July 2014, Sophia Antipolis

Challenges • 5G Mobile Communication Standard - Considering the various research activities and Fora including ITU throughout the world are expecting 5G Mobile Communication System will be available by the year 2020 - Standardization activities are required to meet the such demands • oneM2M - Congratulations on publication of initial release 1(Aubergine) - Active communication with vertical industries and closer cooperation with ITU will bring even greater success for the future releases GSC-18, 22-23 July 2014, Sophia Antipolis
