Presentation of the company •  Afinis (www.afinis.cl) is a Chilean-based firm that specializes in job placement. • Mission: • Placing the right person in the company where she is needed. • Creating a partnership with their client companies. • Defining a thorough profile, position description and company knowledge.

  3. Old Information Records: • So far spreadsheets have been used. • But Afinis, growing fast and steadily, wants to: • - stop relying on spreadsheets • - move on to a better-centralized computer based system • - avoid redundancies

  4. Users of the new system: This system will be used, through web-based interfaces, by: • Candidates (interaction), who need to be able to enter their personal information • Partners (interaction), who need access to candidates’ profiles. : • Job Agents (mainly), who need to have full access to search the database.

  5. Functionalities needed, through the web interface: • Candidate/company/position searching • Limiting access according to the user • record/user administration • maintenance. • For this solution we will use: • for the web interface : Linux cluster server running Apache/PHP • for the DB engine: MySQL that runs 24/7 in Chile • Access to this cluster will be provided by Lemontech (www.lemontech.cl) an IT Chilean company.
