Announcements & Info • Review syllabus objectives (see revised syllabus) • Reinforce students understanding of the design process by applying the design process to team projects. • Learn to efficiently document design work in real-time (wiki and design notebooks). • Learn to effectively summarize and communicated their team’s progress on their respective project (memos, presentations, and drawings). • Learn to effectively manage project resources (budget, project schedule, man power) • Learn to effectively manage their projects by managing to their bosses’ expectations (bosses = advisor, teaching team, and team mates). • Sources of benchmarking

Design Selection Guidelines • Refer to supplied excel spreadsheet • QFD guidelines • List evaluation categories • Pick category weights (1,3,9) • List items to be compared in design trade • Assign scores • See which design(s) scores best • Possibly refine QFD to top 2 or 3 designs/items
Announcements & Agenda • Peer review presentation – Marlin • Peer review grades • Give 1 copy to Dr. P – will receive check, minus… • Provide grade of your reviewing team’s grade in your next memo after you have a chance to absorb their feedback • Peer review • Groups exchange hardcopies. • Make comments on hardcopy and return to team • Turn in 1 hardcopy to Dr. P now
