THOUGHTS ON PROGRESS TO DATE • The plan and the approach were designed to meet the needs of golf. That remains the case. • Golf has shown its commitment to move the sport forward in collaboration across a wide range of areas. • Significant effort and resources are being directed at increasing and sustaining participation in golf. • Opportunities outside the game are being maximised for the benefit of golf. • The early trends are encouraging, but we need to maintain the momentum.

Over the period 2009/13, the plan will invest £35.45m from golfing organisations and Sport England into the development of the game. Sport England funding represents 36% of the investment. Of this, 14% is directed towards the Grow Outcome; 63% towards Sustain; and, 23% towards Excel. SUMMARY OF INVESTMENT 2009/13
Some key factors influencing how we work in 2009/13: Fit with priorities in national and county plans; County has a CGP; Focus on an area where schools, clubs and school-club link activity is in place and working effectively; Collaborative external partnerships can demonstrably add value to golf’s ability to increase participation, enhance satisfaction or provide opportunities for players to get better; Evidential data indicates that there is a substantive pool of potential golfers in the locale; Opportunities to link the whole player pathway.
