  2. Purpose of the ALC • Preserve agricultural land • Encourage farming on agricultural land • Encourage local governments, First Nations, the government to accommodate farm use of agricultural land in their plans, bylaws & policies ALR in BC

The ALC - Administrative Tribunal • The ALC is an administrative tribunal which is a specialized • government agency established under provincial legislation • to implement legislative policy. • Administrative tribunals function at arm's length from • government and are expected to exercise their role in a • nonpartisan manner. ALR in BC
