What is Social Media? A set of online tools that supports social interaction between users. Social media is about “transforming monologue (one-to-many) into dialog (many-to-many).”1 1www.webpronews.com/blogtalk/2007/06/29/the-definition-of-social-media
Enables more direct access, But face-to-face still best for establishing trust
Enables large-scale communities of practice, But compelling reason to be together is needed

Network with those outside of your organization, But don’t forget those within
Enables citizen science & engagement, But data not always usable
