Assessment of UCAR Computer Rooms Computer Room Management Committee June 14, 2004
Background • UCAR Space Implementation Committee (USIC) report suggests centralized computing facilities are cost-effective means to meet programmatic requirements. • Informational Technology Council (ITC) creates Computer Room Management Committee to define standards.
CRMC Vision • The central computer room standards committee will asess the short- and long-term needs for computing facilities at UCAR and recommend the technical standards, management protocols, and centralized facilities plans to address those needs. • Recommendations will be presented to ITC, USIC, and President’s Council.
