  2. This Presentation will cover: • Status of IRRBP • Projects • Funding • Update to the 23 CFR 661 IRRBP Regulations

  3. IRRBP Projects Funded in FY 05 • 45 bridge projects funded: • 17 BIA owned projects • 28 Non-BIA owned projects • $22.8 million used • $19 million TEA-21 bridge funds • $3.8 million of FY 05 STEA funds • $9.2 million rolled back to the IRR Program

  4. SAFETEA-LUFY05 IRRBP Funding • $14,000,000/yr per SAFETEA-LU • Net $11,970,000 • (lost $2,030,000 due to 14.5% ob limit) • carried over into FY 06

  5. FY 06 IRRBP Projects(as of 2/15/06) • 20 bridge projects funded: • 4 BIA owned projects • 16 Non-BIA owned projects • $10.1 million used • FY05 Carryover Funds • $1.87 million remaining

  6. Status of IRRBP Funding in FY 06 • $14 million for FY 06 • Net $12.06 million after Ob limit and rescission • $1.87 million remaining from FY 05 carryover Total available = $13.93 million

  7. Changes to IRRBP • Result from SAFETEA-LU • $14,000,000 for FY05 through FY09 • Use to carry out planning, design, engineering, preconstruction, construction, and inspection of projects • Bridges must be structurally deficient or functionally obsolete • Funds for design based on availability • Funds for construction and inspection after PS&E approval.

  9. Issues • How to handle Preliminary Engineering? • Should the 80% - 20% split for BIA and non-BIA owned bridges be kept? • Is 1st come - 1st served basis working? • Should there be a funding ceiling for design and construction?
