Impact • What areas of impact have had the highest level of solvency? • Overall there was a high level of solvency throughout all areas of impact, but the areas of energy efficiency, sustainability, sustainable consumer products, and community and economic development each have at least 15% of the total IC companies, and those companies are all still in business • How many companies have multiple areas of impact? • 34 companies fall into multiple areas of impact.   6. Funding • How many companies received follow-on funding? • At least 13 out of the 133 companies received follow-on funding that we know of. So about 9.8% of the companies. • What percentage of IC portfolio companies still in business received follow-on funding? • At least 12 out of the 114 companies that are still in business, or 10.5%. Funding • What is the percentage of companies that are still in business out of all of those that received follow-on funding? • From what we know, 12 out of the 13 companies that we know received funding are still in business. That is 92.3%. • On average, how many years did it take for companies to receive follow-on funding? • The average time was about 2.5 years from their first round of funding through IC until their first follow-on funding. Funding • What was the average amount of follow-on funding received? • $8,064,615 per company (out of the 13 companies we know for sure received funding). • What is the total amount of follow-on funding received? • From what we know, at least $104,840,000. • What type of companies (i.e. area of impact) received the most follow on funding? • Out of the 13 companies, 4 are CED(Community and Economic development), 4 are ENV(Environment and Sustainability), 3 are SCP(Sustainable Consumer Products), 3 are EEE(Energy and Energy Efficiency), 2 are EDU(Education), 1 is H20(Water-related), 1 is HW(Health and Wellness), and 1 is CT(Cleantech). Funding • What are the trends of investment by major investors over time? • Out of 219 member investors, $78,034,918 in total has been invested, averaging out to $356,323 per member. • Out of 219 members, 12 or about 5.5% invested more than $1,000,000. • 26 members or about 12% invested more than $500,000. For example: if an investor invested in 2001, and then again in 2008, his active time was 8 years. • The overwhelming majority of member investors were only active one year. • Those who invested actively for longer than 5 years, tended to have several years in between each investment.
