Learn Enjoy Care Achieve Frenchay C of E Primary School Newsletter 15 7.09.08 IMPORTANT Welcome back after the summer break. The return to school has been smooth and the children have settled back well. A big welcome to all our new reception children and parents and we look forward to a long and happy partnership. We would also like to welcome Mr Lowe who will be covering Mrs Sharpe’s class until further notice and if you haven’t already met him introduce yourself to him. All teachers are preparing their Termly Newsletter that informs you of the areas of learning for this term and the classroom routines. Newsletter should be with you by the end of the week and displayed in your child’s classroom. There will be an opportunity for you to meet the class teacher and discuss your child’s targets on Tues. 20th and Wed 21st October. A letter will follow shortly from your class teacher with times available. Breakfast club letter should read £2.00 per child per day for staffing cost. Sorry for the error. Remember ‘Family Services are held at Frenchay Parish Church on the 1st Sunday of every month at 10.45am. All are welcome to attend. Sunday Gang meets on the other Sunday Mornings at 10.30am during term time. We start in school and finish in church. All primary age children are welcome. Come and join us to play games, do drama, make things, hear stories, sing and learn more about Jesus. We have just been given some hand chimes to learn how to play. Contact Revd Judith Lee 01454 772381 jrplee@btinternet.com ‘ School Information Please remember that at the beginning of the day children should not arrive on the premises before 8.45 a.m. This is because there is no supervision until this time (teachers are busy preparing work and setting up classroom activities until then) and the school cannot take responsibility for your child. The bell rings at 8.50 a.m. for children to line up and the teacher will collect them from the playground. There is no need to accompany your child to the classroom unless you specifically need to speak to the class teacher. The school gates are unlocked at 8.40 a.m. and 3.20 p.m. and locked at 9.10 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. Should you wish to enter the school premises during the school hours please buzz and report to the school office. Absence forms will only be returned to you if the absence cannot be authorised. In line with South Gloucestershire guidelines I am unable to authorise absence in Term 1 and 5. Please see our Attendance Policy on the website and the leaflet sent home today. Medicines - In line with the Governors medical policy we can only issue medication that is for severe allergies and long-term illness. Please ensure all asthma inhalers are in school and in date.
