The OSDS (www.occsupplydemand.org) combines national and state-level occupational characteristics, projections, wage trends, licensing data, and industry employment (demand) with postsecondary graduation data (supply) for analysis of labor markets and training options. The OSDS provides clusters, units of analysis, that relate structured training programs to the occupations which their training graduates fill, that is, to occupational labor markets. The OSDS contains high-demand, high-wage and high-skill occupations based on a state’s criteria in response to Perkins IV legislation. OSDS helps business and industrial analysts, program planners, workforce administrators and others determine labor availability and training programs offerings based on the supply demand mix. Units of Analysis contain clusters of related occupations and training programs. A Unit of Analysis is a starting point for comparing the relative abundance of trained workers related to the demand for those workers.
