  1. NPD: Access Arrangements • Current process • Internal & External users formally request their own specific data extracts • Proposed process • Internal and External users request one of three types of data extracts: • Pre-defined data output (e.g. standard anonymised KS4 dataset matched to School Census) • Non-pre-defined non-sensitive data outputs (e.g. anonymised KS3 dataset for a specific LEA) • Non-pre-defined sensitive data outputs • Benefits of proposed process • Less resource intensive • Reduce bottlenecks

  2. NPD: How would you like us to improve the service you receive? • PLUG website to include: • Information pack for users outlining what data is available in the NPD and how to request it • Confidentiality agreement templates • User guides • Release dates

  3. NPD: New Indicators to be included • Requirements gathering: • Via requirements gathering template (will be on website) • Name; Date; Organisation; Suggested Indicator; Suggested Methodology (if appropriate); Rationale. • Process for inclusion: • New requirements gathered • Suggestions recorded on DfES log • Requirements assessed for impact/feasibility • Prioritisation of agreed requirements • Feedback on decisions

  4. NPD: Inclusion of Higher Education Data Two Key Decisions • Agreement from HESA to receive and use named data. • Agreement from DfES lawyers to match HESA data to NPD Next Steps • Initial match of HESA data to the NPD to assess feasibility using 04/05 HESA data – Jan/Feb • Fully specified match of HESA data to NPD as a result of feasibility assessment – Apr/May • Hopefully (!) anonymised matched data available by end of year.
