  6. School Commitment • Sustainability of Project “be clear about how extensive and effective its use of technology is across all areas. It is important that schools plan, monitor and evaluate their use of technology and its impact, while responding to national priorities and local circumstances and needs”. • Development of use of Video Conferencing in Schools “Strategic planning is essential if schools are to make increasingly effective use of ICT. School leaders therefore need to continuously monitor and evaluate their use of technology to ensure that their school’s investment in ICT meets their needs and achieves their objectives”.

  7. Why be involved? • Expertise and training on use of Video Conferencing Equipment for use with other projects • Exciting transition program for year 6 to year 7. As part of full pilot your school will be given e-missions as a free resource. • Substantial reduction on price of all equipment • Full set up included

Why be involved? • All training days funded by CYPFS to meet with primary feeders included in the Pilot, four days for each school. • All support from, consultant, adviser, matrix and medium is free. • Raise the profile of your school as a leader in the effective use of Technology. • Evidence for ICT Mark, Ofsted, SEF and use of 20-20 Vision as forward thinking schools.

Educational Uses • Trans national links • Links other schools • Link with Lead Teachers/AST’s • Cross school sharing with other schools • Links with Higher Education • Links with Businesses and experts who can come “into the classroom”. • 14-19 Diplomas • Extended Schools. Every pupil has an entitlement to Education.

  10. Time frame 14th March 2007, Overview of Pilot to invited attendees. 28th March 2007, Commitments from schools who wish to participate. Offer given to other schools. Easter 2007, Equipment ordered for schools. April 2007, Equipment installed and set up in schools ready for Pilot May and June 2007, Training days, including e-missions launch day. June/July 2007, 4 weeks delivered in Primary schools. September 2007, 4 weeks delivered in Secondary Schools. November 2007, Evaluation of the Pilot. December 2007, distribution of findings.

Deadline for involvement • There is funding for a maximum of 10 schools for this pilot, to include secondary schools and their feeder primaries. • Due to the time frame for development, we will need to have a commitment from your school by the 28th March 2007 to confirm your place in the pilot.

Outline of the day To give an overview of the Cornwall Video Conferencing Pilot, to be run as a transition Project for Year 6s to Year 7s in 2007. • 9.15am- 9.30am Coffee and Registration • Introductions and Outline of the Proposal • Video Conferencing. What is it and how can it promote Teaching and Learning? • The Budget, devolved funding and Incentives for Pilot Schools • 10.45-11am coffee • Demonstration- A Live Video Link • Lunch 12.30-1.15pm • “E-mission”. What is it and how do we use it? • 2.30-3.30pm Coffee and Questions • Questions and Answers. The Way forward…
