  1. Denvention3 August 6 – 10, 2008 Con Report A Mile Closer to the Stars

  2. August 5, 2008 Day of arrival. Arrived about 10 am at the Hyatt Regency and they had my room ready without any extra charge! Went to the 16th Street Mall – a mile long street loaded with gift shops, boutiques, restaurants, cafes, you name it. Then to the Convention Centre for pre-reg. The Centre was enormous and pre-reg tables were way, way back, a hike of at least one and a half city blocks! And it has a Blue Bear Standing guard outside!   4. First day of World Con – August 6, 2008! (Don’t let the date on the pics fool you. The camera was in a time warp) Nancy Kress and Star standing in line and long faces about the long wait (nearly 1 hour!) Long line-up for registration! Nancy Kress and Star! Nancy and me (who got the badge already the previous day)

  5. Day 1 of Convention. At our fan table, giving out freebies and posing for fans. What we lacked was a sign for the Other*Worlds*Cafe

  7. Evening of August 6 – first ever WorldCon I attended where it rained! Memorable signs at the Bubba Gump Restaurant (that Star first thought was a shop selling bubble gum) where we had supper

  8. Day 2, August 7 Ballerinas doing their stuff at the Sheraton (the party hotel) 16th Street Mall at night

  9. PARTEEEES Seattle and Reno in competition for 2011

  10. Day 3, August 8 (camera is still in time warp) Walking with the Stars assembly by the Blue Bear and the walk Our nearly empty fan table Friday morning Group photo after the walk

  11. Day 4, August 9 Joe Haldeman after the Saturday morning walk (it was hot) Bujold signing A dinosaur wandered in and ate some fans . . .?

  12. Day 5, August 18, 2008 More exhibits in the dealers’ room

  14. Goodbye, until we meet again Star at OWC fan table with what was left OWC Dinner on the patio (we went to see The Mummy afterwards) The free shuttle bus for the 16th Mall Street But, the horse ain’t free
