Transition from old system to new system Extensive consultation with ACPO and other key stakeholders and establishment of Finance Reform Working Group Police Authorities asked to estimate pensions income and expenditure for 2005/6 (as if they had been operating the new system), 2006/7 and 2007/8. Estimates received from PAs were reconciled with national estimates for the year produced by GAD. Ł290m removed from Police Grant Settlement in 2006/7 to be used as Central Government ‘Top-Up’ Grant Ł305m has been removed from Police Grant Settlement in 2007/8 to be used as Central Government ‘Top-Up’ Grant
