Be Prepared • Each student needs to bring all materials to class and take them when they leave. • Be Prompt • Each student needs to be in their seat and ready to begin class when the bell rings. • Be Respectful • Each student needs to respect their peers and the teacher at all times. • Be Responsible • Listen to all directions and follow them the first time. • Adhere to all procedures set forth in the student handbook. Classroom Expectations
1st offense • Verbal Warning • 2nd offense • PE II will be taken • 3rd offense • In School Suspension/Office Not following the Expectations
Homework: 30% Quizzes: 20% Tests: 50% Grades
Homework will be due the day after it is assigned unless otherwise noted on the assignment. • If a student fails to bring the homework the next day they will be assigned PE II Detention. • If a student is absent a student will have 3 days to make-up the missing assignment. After the third day the above consequences will occur. If a student is out for several days the policies listed in the Student Handbook will be followed. Homework
Students will have a quiz ever Wednesday. • These quizzes will be Great questions for the upcoming Test and students will be responsible to ensure they understand the material. • Quizzes will be timed and students will have between 10 to 15 minutes to complete the assignment depending on the number of questions. • Quizzes will be comprised of 3-10 questions depending on the material. Students will have a test every two weeks on Friday over the material that has been covered. • Tests will be comprised of Multiple Choice and Short Answer Questions. Tests
Students will copy each vocabulary word into their composition notebooks. Addition to the definition of the each vocabulary word students will be required to place a visual representation next to each word. This picture can be a photo printed from a computer or a NEATLY drawn picture. The pictures will be completed outside of class time. Vocabulary
You should not mark on the calculators or the screens as they are very expensive. Do not be playing with the calculator while I am teaching. If this is a problem we will not use the calculators. You may not use the calculators on the Mad Minute worksheets or Automaticity Calculators are to not be removed from the classroom. If this is an issue we will not use the calculators. Everyday you will have an Automaticity sheet to begin class. We will then review the previous days material and check the homework. Then we will have a lecture over new material, followed by practice problems. Students will also complete an exit slip or independent practice which will consist of a problem or question from that days lesson. Procedures
Make-Up Work is located on the calendar boards at the back of the room. It is your responsibility to collect your missing assignments. Quizzes and Tests may be made up during PE II. You should speak with me to schedule a time. It is your responsibility to ensure you have all make-up work turned in. Procedures Continued…
If you fail to bring a pencil to class you may purchase one from me. • Lead Pencil is $.25 • Note: If you return the pencil at the end of the period you will receive the money back. • If you fail to bring paper you may get a piece out of the paper bin located in the front of the room. • This should not be an everyday habit if it is you will receive detention during PE II Procedures Continued…

Self-Paced system to develop Automaticity Skills. Each Student will have their own folder to keep track of their day to day progress. I will periodically pick-up the folders to track your progress. Each Friday you will have a mad minute that covers the material you are currently working on. Automaticity
There are no cell phones allowed in my classroom. Cell Phones must stay in lockers. If a cell is seen it will be taken. • Do not leave class or put materials away until I say “Have a nice Day!” • Do not ask to go to the restroom until I have finished covering the new material for the day. • Please go the restroom before class.
