  3. What is a Mind Map? • Mind map is a tool which helps you think and learn. • Shows the structure of the subject and linkages between points as well as the raw facts contained in normal notes. • Holds information in a format that your mind will find easy to remember and quick to review. Dr. J. Mior

  4. What is a Mind Map? • Shows the ‘shape’ of the subject, the relative importance of individual points and the way in which one fact relates to others. • Is more compact than conventional notes, often taking up one side of paper. • Helps make associations easier. Dr. J. Mior

  5. How to Do a Mind Map • Mind mapping (or concept mapping) involves writing down a central ideal and thinking up new and related ideas which radiate out from the centre. • By focusing on key ideas written down in your own words, and then looking for branches and connections between ideas, you are mapping knowledge in a manner which will help you understand and remember new information. Dr. J. Mior

  6. Look for Relationships • Relationships are important in understanding new information. • By personalizing the map with your own symbols and designs you will be constructing visual and meaningful relationships between ideas which will assist in recall and understanding. Dr. J. Mior
