Boat Highlights: Boat Highlights: The Dos Amigos has been in Clearwater Beach for over 25 years. I have owned and captained the boat since 1991. She is a 35 foot Crusader fiberglass hull sport fishing vessel. We recently repowered the engine and upgraded to a 450 C Cummins 430 hp one which is one of the faster boats in our marina! The boat has four fighting chairs in the cockpit. The two chairs closest to the back are removable for those people who love a good fish fight standing up. There is a dinette aboard along with a long bench seat in the cabin. There is also a bunk and bathroom facility down below. We carry the appropriate life vests, flares and Coast Guard approved safety equipment. Our vessel is also very clean and well maintained. Capt Capt Be prepared for a fun time on your charter trip. Captain Tom has been fishing since he could hold a pole in his hand. Dedicated to the joy of the sport, his success as a local fisherman has earned him a reputation for being one of the "top guides" in the area. In fact he is affectionately known by the other Captains as "Killer". Tom and his wife, Pam, have owned the Dos Amigos since 1991. During that time he has consistently come "home" with a box full of fish.
Fun Trivia: Fun Trivia: We are often asked if we speak Spanish. We would have to answer no although the name would say otherwise. Good ol' American fun is fun for all. When Tom is not fishing, he is enjoying time with his family, playing golf, and a good cigar. He has a fun sense of humor and loves to make people laugh. Tom builds his own fishing rods and takes great pride in the wrapped designs on them. He is handy with his hands and is up for any mechanical or building challenge. TRIPS Trolling: Trolling consist of the boat is constantly moving. Trolling is for beginners and experts alike. We put out four lines behind the boat, a couple down deep and a couple near the surface. We will use spoons, plugs, jigs, and ballyhoo (not related to cindy-loo hoo!). Once the fish have been located Capt. Tom will circle on top of the school and wait for the big fish to strike! Bottom Fishing: Consist of the boat stopping and anchoring.6 people can fish at one time while doing this. You drop you weighed hook to the bottom and wait for that bite! Sometimes it is fast and furious and other times it is a bit slower. You will always catch something this way. Groupers are the main fish doing this, and gray snappers are also a tasty treat! Amberjack Fishing: You will need a 10-12 hour charter for these big boys. We will need to travel about 40-50 miles to catch some of these reef donkeys! You will need your wheaties for these guys!
