Supplies Needed • Binder withdividers (or spiral notebook and pocketfolder) • Notebook paper • Pens and pencils • Highlighters A flash drive (USB) is very convenient for computer work! • A-G – Tissues • H - M -- 12 ct. colored pencils • N - S – Highlighters (colors other than yellow) • T-Z – Colorful sticky notes

  6. Grading Policy • Grade system • Major grades are 60% of six weeks’ average • May include vocabulary exams, novel exams, essays, projects, writing process • Daily grades are 40% of six weeks’ average • Quizzes, worksheets, participation

  7. Areas of Study • Current Unit: Short Story and LiteraryElements Review of literaryterms. Expositorywriting. • Novels and Plays: • The Odyssey, Homer (textbook) • HungerGames*, Suzanne Collins • Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare (textbook) • To Kill a Mockingbird*, Harper Lee *Students are encouraged to have theirown copies of asterisked books for annotating. Somealsofindithelpful to have a copy of Cliff’s Complete or Spark Notes’ No Fear Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet.
