Value of the construction industry • For every $1m spent, 2 direct and 2.5 indirect jobs are sustained. • Based on the forecast for this year, around $300m will be spent in the development and construction industry. • This sustains over 1300 jobs. • At more ‘normal’ development and construction levels, the value of the industry and the people employed is almost double what we are currently contributing to the Far North economy.
